December 6, 2011

Meeting called to order 9:00 a.m. by President Red Westall.
Roll Call revealed present: Jim Cook, Judy Ford, Agnes Forsyth, Doris Gruner, Gale Sabatino, Frances Skaggs, Patty Thorpe, Gordon Watson, Red Westall, Steve Holleque, Linda Roujon, Gloria Wilson-White, Lyle Wood. Excused - John Carpenter and Steve Peters.
Discussion was held on the following items:
Old Business:
Lyle Wood reported the cell tower contract will be signed.
DVCC Mission Statement Banner is finished and will be placed, if it fits, in front of the office building facing 55th Street.
New Business:
Projected Budget 2012:
Strategic Planning Committee 5 year plan is attached with approximate costs. Patty Thorpe thanked the committee. Frances Skaggs stated the committee developed a five year plan to enhance the community. For the year 2012,  they suggested install solar lights in exercise room, sell vacant lots  on 55th Place, replace reader board with elect reader board at Farnsworth. Install solar lights in Read Hall; and a screen door in the kitchen at Farnsworth is necessary. All costs presented were approximate. There will be a presentation to the board at the January meeting.

Projected 2012 Capital Expenditures: see attached figures. Patty Thorpe said Brian was consulted as what was needed. The following are projects that were considered: Replace 12 banquet hall tables at Farnsworth, replace various tables in Read Hall, resurface west parking lot at Farnsworth Hall, replace exercise equipment, Miscellaneous pool deck repair, Read Hall pool pump house brick wall, repair pool furniture. A high speed floor buffer for Farnsworth will cost $1316.82. The pool fence at Farnsworth needs to be brought up to code. The front office door has been installed.
Bank Resolution - Patty Thorpe. See attached sheet.
Read Hall pool heater needs to be replaced. Cost $2750.00

November Board minutes will be modified. based on tape recording and notes.
