SARVER, Mildred Margaret (Wood) (“Sue” or Millie Sue”), 79, our angel has been called home. Millie Sue passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Banner Garden Hospice House in Mesa, Arizona. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Jerry or Corky Sarver, for 45 years.
Also survived by her is daughter Gail Wood of Grand Rapids, MI, son Jerry Sarver, Jr., of Charleston, West VA, son Larry Wood of Middletown, VA, daughter Donna Bloxam of Tecumseh, MI and daughter Debra Bradley-Tackett of Greenup, KY. Also surviving Millie Sue are twelve grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
Sue was born April 15, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland and later moved to Milan, Michigan. She worked in restaurants and factories to support her young family as a single mother in the late 1950's until meeting Jerry, a single father and joined their families to create a loving home for their children. Sue also worked many years at Wolverines Plastics and later retired from the Ford Motor Company in Milan, Michigan.
After retirement Sue and Jerry moved to Wetmore, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. Then after seven years of “snow and beautiful wilderness”, they retired again to Dreamland Villa in Mesa.
Sue loved people and touched many lives with her kindness, laughter, and generosity. The has always been there for her family and believed in Christ, Our Lord. Milly Sue always gave warm hugs and will be sadly missed.
Memorial services were held for Milly at Sonoran Skies Mortuary and Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 with many family and friends in attendance. A reception was held at Farnsworth Hall.
